A group of 39 PSU staff members visited the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and other places in Malaysia from 14 – 16 December 2011. The group consisted of administrative staff members and lecturers who participated in the English Course Development Program arranged by the PSU International Affairs Office. The English courses for this program are taught by a teacher from The United States, Mr. Lance Terry. The main objectives of this visit were to broaden participants’ view points, give them the chance to gain new experiences in a foreign country, and practice their English skills. PSU is preparing its staff for ASEAN and, with opportunities such as this, is helping to develop their English proficiency, which in addition will have a positive impact on their work. Other purposes of the visit were to learn about the administrative and management systems of Malaysian universities, make contact with another university member of ASEAN, and establish bonds both academic and personal.
Two staff members from the PSU History Hall visited UiTM’s art gallery, took photographs, shared information and experiences in order to set up PSU’s own gallery in the near future.
The visit strengthened both PSU’s relationship with UiTM and the friendship between our two countries and cultures.
